Pricing/Policies

Off The Wall Painting Pricing and Policies

When you hire me to do a job, you get an artist with over 15 years of professional experience.  With a degree in fine art, I have worked as an artist in several different capacities including graphic design and jewelry design.  Murals and painting have been my professional focus for the past 7 years.  I am skilled in all phases of the process – consulting, sketching, revising and bringing your idea to fruition.

THE PROCESS: A free on-site consultation is the first step. At your consultation we will review my portfolio, share ideas and brainstorm together to create your dream room. If desired, I will provide a custom sketch for $40. Once the design is finalized, pricing for the job will be determined.

MURAL PRICING: Pricing is determined by various factors — the project selected, size and complexity of the design, access to the work area (ie:ceiling),  and estimated time frame for the job. I will create your vision within your budget, painting as much or as little as you would like. Pricing can only be determined after the design is finalized. However, I am happy to offer a rough estimate based on a description of the project or a similar job I have done.
CANVAS PRICING: If you commission a custom work on canvas, pricing and policies will be very similar to that of a mural.

VENETIAN PLASTER PRICING:  Venetian Plaster is a specialty finish using plaster instead of paint.  There are many different ways to apply this material and the effects are spectacular.  Pricing for this finish starts at $7/s.f. for one color.  To get a desired effect, you may use more than one color, add a wax, glaze, or sealer.  You can even top it with a “raised stencil”.  Each of these processes will add $1-$3 per s.f. to the overall price.

PAYMENT:  50% of payment is due upon contract signing.  The balance will be due upon completeion of the project.

  OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER:
    • For best results, walls should be clean, free of nails, holes, and dents.
    • Consider a fresh coat of paint on your walls as the best possible backdrop for your mural.
    • All furniture and breakables should be removed from the area before I arrive.
    • If changes are made to the design upon the client’s request, additional charges may be incurred
    •  While it is not necessary for someone to be present during the painting process, it is helpful in the event that questions arise
    •  I do require someone to be present to sign off on the work upon completion.
    •  Should you choose to waive this right, additional charges may be incurred if changes are required after the fact.
